Tennessee photographer John Guider stepped into his 16-foot canoe on Spencer Creek in Williamson County five years ago and began his journey down the Harpeth, Cumberland, Tennessee, and Ohio rivers, paddling toward the mighty Mississippi and his final destination of New Orleans. The River Inside, opening October 3 at the State Museum, tells the story of Guider’s solo journey through the camera’s eye.

The book signing is open to the public and takes place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone who joins the Tennessee State Museum Foundation during this time will receive a discount on the purchase of the book and an invitation to a private reception following the event.
